The BeginningLong ago, the world was silent; all alone in darkness, accompanied only by its two moons. For centuries the world lay still, untouched by life... until the magick came. All at once, magick blanketed the sky, leaving countless stars in its wake, and most important of all, life. Green sprang from the ground, reaching high into the air creating shade and shelter to all who sought refuge beneath the foliage. The ground awoke with a fiery passion, leaving new and fertile land in its molten cascade. Water sprang from the cracks in the soil, bringing forth bodies of water both big and small. The sky opened, gaining breath of its own, bringing a harmonious cycle to the land. In the center of the great continent, all four elements met to create the Great Oak tree with twisting branches of red, blue, green and gold. The Great Oak produced one single golden acorn; which split open when it reached the ground. A small creature emerged from the acorn, blinking its eyes at the bright and warm sun. As it took its first steps out into this new and beautiful world, the first Seunkin was born.

The PilgrimageAfter taking in many of the new and exciting sights to see in this new world, the Seunkin looked around and felt a strange feeling; they wished to share this new world with others. The Seunkin glanced back up at the Great Oak and felt a pang of despair when they noticed the tree had not produced any more acorns like the one they had been contained in. Disheartened, the Seunkin began to leave the shade of the Great Oak, but as they passed the remnants of the acorn that had brought them to life, something caught their eye. There, in the base of the open shell were five smaller acorns, much too small to possibly contain other Seunkin. Breathing a sigh of relief, the Seunkin scooped up the acorns and set off into the unknown with renewed hope.
As they traveled, the Seunkin came across marvelous elemental wonders. They found a field full of lush flowers and plants teeming with natural magic; here they planted the first acorn. Next, the Seunkin happened upon a great lake with rivers flowing out of it into every direction. Determined, they waded the waters of the lake, straight to the center where they dove down to plant the second acorn. After travelling quite a distance, the Seunkin discovered a cliff, high on a plateau, looking down over a deep ravine with powerful gusts of magic pouring out of it; here they planted the third acorn. With the pouch that had contained the acorns feeling much lighter than before, the Seunkin carried onward towards a cluster of volcanoes, with one massive one in the center. Digging in the fertile land at the base of the volcano, the Seunkin planted its fourth acorn. Feeling the end of its journey near, the Seunkin returned to the great continent where the spirit of magick was at its strongest and planted the final acorn. It took years for the acorns to grow into full trees. During this time, the lone Seunkin passed its time by visiting each of the saplings as they grew. As they spent time at each location, the Seunkin took it upon itself to learn how to harness the elemental magics of this world. As the trees grew, so did the Seunkin's knowledge and power. By the time the first acorns grew, the first Seunkin had mastered all five elements, becoming the first Archseun. |
The Birth of GodsYears passed and many more Seunkin began to take their place in the world; but something else was taking shape at each tree. Intense magickal energy gathered at each site, becoming incredibly dense as well as increasingly aware. As time went on, these conscious magical beings watched the Seunkin and became sympathetic towards them. Longing for interaction with the beings they grew to know, they each took on a form similar to the Seunkin. When they first emerged with their new bodies, the Seunkin were fearful; they had never seen anything like these magickal beings, but with patience and understanding, these new beings showed the Seunkin there was no need to be afraid and even helped aid the Seunkin in furthering their own magickal talents.
Generations came and went, and with them, the bond between the Seunkin and the magickal beings grew deeper; the Seunkin regarding them as their deities. Today, the deities rarely meddle in the affairs of the Seunkin, but instead prefer to watch from a distance, residing in the sacred trees. They still guide the Seunkin in the ways of magick, just in less direct ways. To show their thanks to the deities, the Archseuns still make the "Pilgrim's Journey" every decade to the sacred trees to offer gifts and seek wisdom, as well as to act as a medium between the Seunkin and their gods. |
